VLC is the simplest possible way to test an IPTV subscription. Open it, paste the M3U URL, and start watching — no other software required.
Download VLC from videolan.org and install it on your platform. (Already installed on most Linux systems.)
Windows/Linux: Media → Open Network Stream. macOS: File → Open Network. iOS/Android: tap the network tab and "Open Network Stream".
Paste the M3U URL we email you and press Play. VLC opens the playlist and starts playing the first channel.
View → Playlist (Ctrl+L on Windows/Linux, Cmd+Option+P on macOS) to see all channels. Double-click any channel to switch.
Media → Save Playlist to File so you can reopen TrexTV instantly later without re-entering the URL.
VLC is the perfect "first 5 minutes" tool for IPTV. Got a fresh subscription? Open VLC, paste the M3U URL, and you'll know within 30 seconds whether the stream works, the channels are correct, and your internet handles it. It's also the easiest way to test specific channels without leaving the PC.
VLC has no EPG (TV guide), no channel logos, no favourites, no parental PIN, and a fairly basic channel list. For a permanent setup on a TV, you want IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate.
If you've connected your laptop to a TV via HDMI, VLC is more than enough for watching IPTV in full-screen. Press F (or fullscreen icon) and you've got a basic TV experience.
Mobile VLC also supports M3U network streams — handy for travel, hotel TVs, or watching on a tablet.
Pick a duration — same channels, lower per-month cost on longer plans.

No. VLC plays IPTV streams but has no built-in TV guide. For EPG, channel logos, and a TV-style interface, use IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate, or Kodi PVR.
Yes — VLC reads the same M3U playlist as Smarters or TiviMate, so the full TrexTV channel list is available.
Most Smart TVs do not have VLC. VLC is best on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android. For a Smart TV, use the dedicated IPTV apps on the devices page.
No. If you already own a Firestick, Smart TV, Android box, Apple TV, Roku, or a computer, you can install a supported IPTV player and start watching.
IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate are the most popular options. They work on most platforms, look great, and support both M3U and Xtream Codes login.
Each subscription includes one connection by default. You can be logged in on several devices but only stream from one at a time. Extra connections can be added on request.
Instant activation, no contract, free 24-hour test on request.
